iPads

When children join Stoneraise School, they have access to a variety of resources to assist their learning. One of the tools which we utilise on a daily basis is iPads. Every child in school has an iPad (which lives in their classroom). These are filled with apps and other software to assist their learning.

Teachers at Stoneraise are all accredited Apple Teachers. This means they have completed professional development in how to use the Apple's suite of apps effectively in their classrooms. Teachers use the iPads as an extra tool in the toolkit, supplementing other ways of presenting and completing work. Nothing replaces pencil and paper, but our iPads are an additional tool in help staff and pupils in teaching and learning tasks.

The children's iPads are all supervised using Apple Classroom. Apple Classroom turns an iPad into a powerful teaching assistant, helping a teacher guide students through a lesson, see their progress, and keep them on track. Teachers can easily launch the same app on every student's iPad or Mac at the same time or launch a different app for groups of students. Teachers can view what pupils are looking at on their screens, lock their iPads remotely and share files in an instant. Apple Classroom, along with monitoring and filtering software, enables teachers to help children to stay safe when online.
